PSE, eBay Educational Programs at Expanded LOBEX, Feb. 15 - 17, 2007

(Long Beach, California) – Professional Stamp Experts (PSE) will conduct an educational program for collectors and dealers, "Challenges in Grading U.S. Stamps," as part of the expanded LOBEX philatelic section of the Long Beach Coin, Stamp & Collectibles Expo, February 15 – 17, 2007.

LOBEX is hosted by the Long Beach, California Stamp Club, and the show will be held in the Long Beach Convention Center, 100 S. Pine Ave.

The PSE educational program will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, February 16.

"The PSE seminar will examine some of the challenging issues faced when grading U.S. stamps.  These are the kinds of things that sometimes make you scratch your head and hesitate, such as re-perforations, off-center vignettes, overprints, inclusions and countless other things you can find on stamps," said PSE President Michael Sherman.

PSE also will distribute free copies of their highly-acclaimed, illustrated booklet, "A Guide to the Grading of United States Postage Stamps," and copies of the latest Stamp Market Quarterly price guide.  PSE will accept submissions at the show for certification.

A dozen educational seminars and club meetings will be conducted in conjunction with the Long Beach Expo including a presentation, "Buying and Selling on eBay," by eBay consultant, Troy Thoreson, at Noon on Friday, February 16.

The Long Beach Stamp Club has created a special "Cinderella" commemorative stamp to celebrate the organization's 80th year.

The "39-cent denomination" stamp depicts the Long Beach skyline, harbor and pier as they appeared in 1926, the year the club was established.  Single copies, blocks of 12, special souvenir sheets of the stamp, and a cachet will be available for purchase at the club's table.  On Saturday, the club will offer free stamps for children to introduce them to the hobby.

The public hours for the show are Thursday and Friday, February 15 and 16, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Saturday, February 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  (The show is closed on Sunday.)  A complete Schedule of Events can be found online at www.LongBeachShow.com.

General admission is $6 (good for all three days); $4 for members of any coin or stamp club who display a valid membership card; and $3 for seniors 65 and older.  Free admission for children ages seven and younger.  Discount coupons are available online at www.LongBeachShow.com.
