"The Coronet Collection has an impressive weighted grade point average of 66.38, and is the Current Finest 97-coins set of Morgan dollars.  The 28-coins date set is the All-Time Finest of its kind with a grade point average of 67.23, said BJ Searls, Set Registry Manager.

"The full set will be displayed during the Long Beach Expo at the PCGS booth (#807) courtesy of Laura Sperber, Legend Numismatics and the anonymous collector who owns the coins."

The anonymous East Coast collector who owns the Coronet Collection stated:

"My love of coin collecting goes back over 50 years.  While I have collected the full gambit from copper to silver to gold, Morgan Dollars have always been my true love.  Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that one day I would be able to build anything like this wonderful set of American treasures which is crowned with the Vermuele 1893-S.  My sincere thanks go to my good friends at Legend Numismatics without whom I would never have been able to accomplish this lofty feat."

”The grade point average of the Coronet Collection, 66.38, certainly is impressive when you consider that the Jack Lee Collection, the All-Time Finest Morgan dollar collection in the PCGS Set Registry, is 66.57 out of a possible 67.018," said PCGS President Don Willis.

A full listing of the set is available online from the PCGS Set Registry at www.pcgs.com/setregistry/publishedset.aspx?s=115575.

Sperber said helping the collector assemble the set was "a lot of hard work," but she is "fiercely proud" of it.

"I am blown away at what we accomplished as a team with the Coronet Collector.  We had known his life's passion was Morgans.  He is still a Morgan dollar purist.  It was never discussed about building a number one Registry set, however, the collector would never want to accept any coins that were not the finest.  So we knew our mission. There have been hundreds of coins we passed on over the years," Sperber explained.

"I can't thank the owner of the Coronet set enough for allowing us to work with him.  He is a pleasure to work with.  Helping build the current number one collection of Morgans is something we never thought we could ever do.  It wasn't until we saw the set ranked on the PCGS Registry that we both sat back and said, 'WOW!'"
