All-Time Finest U.S. Half Cent Set And Superb German Coins on Display at June 2013 Long Beach Expo

(Long Beach, California) — The number one finest set of all time of United States half cents from 1793 to 1857 will be displayed for the first time in public at the June 2013 Long Beach Coin, Stamp & Sports Collectibles Expo. There will also be exhibits of the all-time finest sets of German Empire 25 pfennig proof coins, 1909 to 1912, and German 5 mark proof commemoratives, 1952 to 1986.
The three-day Long Beach Expo will be open to the public, Thursday to Saturday, June 6 – 8, in the Long Beach, California Convention Center, 100 S. Pine Ave.
“The Missouri Cabinet Collection is the greatest collection of U.S. half cents ever assembled. It has a grade point average of 63.786 and is the all-time finest set in the PCGS Set Registry™. It was assembled over a period of more than 40 years by R. Tettenhorst with collaboration between him and the Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society in St. Louis,” explained Cassi East, President of the Long Beach Expo.
“This is the only collection of half cents ever formed that contains every variety of half cent struck for circulation (www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/alltimeset.aspx?s=108744), and the only collection to contain every variety of half cent struck only in proof (www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/alltimeset.aspx?s=108745). The Missouri Cabinet is ranked number one in all eight Set Registry half cents categories,” said East.

Labeled as “The CoinKing Collection,” the German proof 25 pfennig basic set (www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/alltimeset.aspx?s=62174) has a GPA of 67.131 and the GPA of the German proof 5 mark commemoratives set (www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/alltimeset.aspx?s=49896) is 68.140.

Heritage Auctions (www.HA.com) will conduct its US Coin Signature Auction in conjunction with the show.

NFL Legends Joe Montana and Dwight Clark, who famously connected for “The Catch” in the 1982 NFC Championship game, plus Basketball Hall of Famers Dennis Rodman and Oscar Robertson will meet with fans and sign autographs at the show on Saturday, June 8.
