Headline-Making E98 ”Baseball Cards From The Attic” on Display at September 2012 Long Beach Expo

(Long Beach, California) — Some of the century-old rare, series E98 baseball cards that recently generated national headlines — the treasure trove of 1910-era cards discovered in an Ohio house attic — will be publicly exhibited for the first time on the West Coast at the Long Beach Coin, Stamp & Collectibles Expo (www.LongBeachExpo.com).  The show is open to the public in the Long Beach, California Convention Center, 100 S. Pine Ave., September 6 – 8, 2012.

“Among the Hall of Fame players whose cards will be exhibited courtesy of Heritage Auctions (www.HA.com) are Ty Cobb, Cy Young and Honus Wagner,” said Cassi East, Long Beach Expo President.
In alphabetical order, these are the ten cards and their PSA grade that will be displayed in Long Beach:
“This will be the first time these historic baseball cards can be seen in person in California. The ten on display in Long Beach were among the millions of dollars of rare cards found earlier this year stashed under a doll house in the attic when heirs were cleaning their late grandfather’s house in Northern Ohio,” explained East. “The first 37 cards offered by Heritage Auctions sold for a combined total of $566,132 a few weeks ago.”
The Long Beach Coin, Stamp & Collectibles Expo will be open to the public Thursday and Friday, September 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, September 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Public admission is $8 (good for all three days); $6 for members of any coin or stamp club; $4 for seniors 65 and older and for children ages 8 to 16. Free admission is available for PCGS and PSA Collectors Club members, PCGS, PSA and PSE Set RegistrySM participants, PCGS CoinFacts members, PSA and PCGS Authorized Dealers and children ages 7 and younger.

More admissions discount information and a Schedule of Events are available online at www.LongBeachExpo.com.
