Hold Babe Ruth’s 1932 Bat At September 2014 Long Beach Expo

(Long Beach, California) — More than 50 historic items related to Babe Ruth will be prominently displayed as a featured exhibit at the next Long Beach Coin, Currency, Stamp & Sports Collectible Expo (www.LongBeachExpo.com), September 4 – 6, 2014.
The display by Memory Lane (www.memorylaneinc.com) will include signed letters, photographs, a 1927 souvenir program book, a 1932 Ruth game-used bat, high-grade Ruth 1933 Goudey cards and dozens of other significant memorabilia and artifacts related to the great “Bambino.”
“Visitors to the show will have the opportunity to actually hold and have their photos taken with Ruth’s bat at the Collectibles Display Booth (#1230) each day between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. The bat is certified PSA 10,” said Cassi East, President of the Long Beach Expo.
The three-day collectibles show will be held in the Long Beach Convention Center, 100 S. Pine Ave., in Long Beach, California. Free admission coupons are available online with the Promo Code SEPTPR.
Representatives of Professional Sports Authenticator (www.psacard.com) and PSA/DNA Authentication Services will be accepting submissions at the show at booth #1540.
“On Saturday, September 6, PSA/DNA will offer on-site authentication for all previously signed autographs. Items submitted by 2:00 pm will be returned before the show closes at 5:00 pm that day. This will be an excellent opportunity for collectors and dealers to save money on shipping costs by submitting bulky items at the show, such as autographed bats, oversized framed photos and posters or large quantities of autographed items,” said PSA President Joe Orlando.
The Long Beach Expo was started in 1964, and in addition to the Ruth items there will be displays of 1964-era sports and entertainment memorabilia as part of the show’s 50th anniversary celebration. One of the highlights will be the Henri Nuber 1964 Collections, ranked as All-Time Finest in the PCGS Set Registry™ for 1964 Topps baseball cards.

“It has a weighted grade point average of 9.513 out of a possible 9.634. There are 587 cards in the complete set, and 300 of them are graded PSA 10, of which 156 are 1 of 1 cards,” explained BJ Searls, Collectors Universe Set Registry & Special Projects Director.
“More than 500 collectibles dealers attending the show will be buying and selling sports memorabilia, rare coins, gold, silver, paper money, stamps, postcards, estate jewelry and other items. Many of the expert dealers will offer free, informal appraisals for the public’s collectibles,” said Long Beach Expo President Cassi East.
Admission is $8 for adults, $4 for seniors and children aged 8 to 16. However, free admission coupons are available in advance online.
“Simply go to our website, www.LongBeachExpo.com, click ‘Get Passes,’ enter the special Promo Code, SEPTPR, and print out the free admission coupon to present at the show’s registration desk,” said East.
The show will be open Thursday and Friday, September 4 and 5, from 10 am to 7 pm, and Saturday, September 6, from 10 am to 5 pm.
