The Long Beach Expo Opens its Doors to Collectors September 29

The Long Beach Expo will include a headlining auction, educational speakers, and onsite grading by coin and sport memorabilia authenticators

(Long Beach, CA – September 8, 2022) – The largest collectibles show on the West Coast will commence at the Long Beach Convention Center in Southern California, September 29 through October 1, 2022. This expo boasts hundreds of dealers and industry experts from across the nation who will buy, sell, trade, and appraise coins, banknotes, trading cards, sports memorabilia, stamps, and more.
There are numerous attractions for collectors to participate in, including the sale of the legendary Harry W. Bass, Jr. Core Collection, Part I by Heritage Auctions. For the past two decades, the collection was displayed at the American Numismatic Association’s Money Museum for the public to admire. Now, his legendary cabinet is being sold to benefit numerous Dallas-area charities. Among the outstanding rarities being offered is the 1870-S $3 Indian Princess and a virtually complete collection of all known die varieties of vintage United States gold coins, a complete collection of gold type coins from 1795 through 1933, and many rare U.S. pattern coins. Lot viewing will be hosted in the Seaside Ballroom, with the live auction occurring on Thursday, September 29 at 6 p.m.
Those wanting to learn more about the world-renowned Harry W. Bass, Jr. Core Collection will benefit from the educational speaker series, an opportunity for attendees to hear about the famous set and other topics in the collecting hobby. Visit the Whatnot Theatre on the show floor to join the conversation at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 30. Other seminar topics include technology and coins, the current state of the market, collecting 18th-century British Provincial Tokens, special challenge coins, and more. Additionally, PCGS is offering the much anticipated $10 crossover specials for coins and banknotes. Visit PCGS Booth #401 to submit your coins and banknotes for onsite grading and authentication. See the PCGS website for details.
PCGS Collectors Club membership is required for all submissions, so those who are not members can join ahead of the event and also enjoy free admission to all Long Beach Expos by visiting https://www.pcgs.com/join.
PSA will be offering onsite card grading on Thursday, and autograph authentication Friday and Saturday. They will also be accepting Take-Home Submissions for trading cards, unopened packs, tickets, autographs, memorabilia, and more.
On Saturday, October 1, enjoy the family-friendly Kid’s Treasure Hunt. This free event allows kids to trek the bourse floor answering trivia questions about the U.S. Mint, banknotes, world coins, and learning how currency is made. Parents can test their skills, too. Treasure awaits those who complete all answers correctly.
The Long Beach Expo will be held Thursday, September 29 through Saturday, October 1. Doors are open 10 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, and Friday, July 1, and 10 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 2.
