Among the outstanding coins in the collection are:
“The A&A Saint-Gaudens Collection set will be exhibited for the first time anywhere in the Collectibles Display area of the Long Beach Expo. This display is courtesy of both the set’s anonymous Illinois owner and dealer Barry Stuppler of Stuppler & Company, Woodland Hills, California (booth #1129) who has been assisting the owner to build the amazing collection,” said East.
Stuppler stated: “After half a century as a collector and dealer, this is the finest gold coin collection I’ve ever had the pleasure of helping to build. The owner of this Saints set has been collecting for about 15 years and considers this the centerpiece of his many coin collections.”
Formerly in the Bentley Collection, this 1927-D Double Eagle, PCGS MS63, now is part of The A&A Saints Collection.
The superb quality “Numismatic Americana Reference Collection” of Medals of the United States Assay Commission, exhibited for the first time at the recent ANA World’s Fair of MoneySM, also will be displayed at the September 2014 Long Beach Expo. It is the all-time finest PCGS Set Registry® set of historic U.S. Assay Commission medals of 1860 to 1977, and will be displayed at the Professional Coin Grading Service booth (#807).
Engraved by Gilroy Roberts, this 1953 U.S. Assay Commission medal is the finest known, graded PCGS SP65, and part of the Numismatic Americana Reference Collection on display at the September 2014 Long Beach Expo.
“The set has a weighted grade point average of 62.345 and is owned by PCGS Authorized Dealer William Shamhart, Jr. of Numismatic Americana, Inc. (booth #633) in Chester, New Jersey. This will be the first time the set has been displayed in California,” said BJ Searls, Collectors Universe Set Registry & Special Projects Director.

In addition to numismatic displays, 1964-era memorabilia of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali and Bob Dylan, as well as a classic mid-1960s red Ford Mustang convertible nicknamed, “Cherry Pie,” will also be among the exhibit highlights of the show.  An original copy of The Beatles’ first U.S. recording contract with Vee Jay Records, valued today at $100,000, will be displayed.

The Long Beach Expo was started in 1964, and the entertainment memorabilia from that era is part of the show’s 50th anniversary celebration.
PCGS will offer a special opportunity for “crossover” service at the September show. The usual Crossover grading fee will be waived on coins submitted at the show that do not crossover into PCGS holders. Information about the PCGS Crossover Special can be found online at www.PCGS.com.

Admission is $8 for adults, $4 for seniors and children aged 8 to 16. However, free admission coupons are available in advance online. Show hours are Thursday and Friday, September 4 and 5, from 10 am to 7 pm, and Saturday, September 6, from 10 am to 5 pm.
