Show Recap: Long Beach Expo September 2018

It’s hard to believe how fast the September 2018 Long Beach Coin, Currency, Stamp and Sports Collectible show came and went. A big thank you to our show sponsors, dealer exhibitors and public visitors for making this show a success and being a part of our last expo for 2018.

Live Auctions with the World's Largest Collectibles Auctioneer: Heritage Auctions

The world’s largest collectibles auctioneer and official auctioneer of the Long Beach Expo, Heritage Auctions, hosted its live Signature Auctions, giving expo visitors the rare opportunity to see live bidding in action. Amazing lots including U.S. coins, world coins, U.S. currency and world currency, were up for attendees’ bidding pleasure in the Signature Auctions series.

2018 World Olympic Collectors’ Fair & Olympian Autograph Sessions

The long-standing, annual gathering featuring Olympic collectors from around the world, was hosted at the Long Beach Expo. Collectors met and shared their remarkable Olympic memorabilia collections including pins, stamps, coins, torches and more with expo attendees. Expo guests also had the exciting opportunity to meet famed Olympians Dawn Harper-Nelson, John Naber and Dick Fosbury for autographs and photo opportunities at the Olympic Pavilion.

September 2018 Show Exclusive: $8 Million "Tyrants of the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic Seas" Historic Coin Exhibit

Making its world debut exclusively at the Long Beach Expo, the “Tyrants of the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic Seas” exhibit featured an $8 million collection of historic gold and silver Italian coins from the Tyrant Collection, the world’s most valuable private coin collection. The impressive 365-coin collection ranges from ancients to medieval and modern issues of great rarity.

The Number-One Finest Silver Commemoratives Set: J&L Collection

As the number-one finest set of all time for silver commemoratives, the J&L Collection was a treat for all expo attendees, displayed at the PCGS Set Registry booth. The set illustrates the owners’ search for not only highly-graded coins, but also coins that come alive with the glorious toning that J&L have always valued above all else.

Autograph Sessions with Knock-Out Boxing Legend Earnie Shavers

Have you ever met a boxing legend? Famed heavyweight and the greatest one-punch, knock-out king Earnie Shavers, was on site signing autographs and taking pictures with fans at the Autograph Pavilion.
Additional show highlights included a free kids treasure hunt for all young numismatists, grading opportunities with Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) and Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), “Meet the Expert” sessions with PCGS co-founder David Hall and Memory Lane Inc. sports expert Dan Wulkan, and so much more!
